Why you need to open video descriptions
YouTube descriptions hold links, timestamps, and extra info that creators share.
Many users miss important resources because they do not know how to open the description panel.

How to find and open the description on desktop and mobile
On desktop:
- Go to any YouTube video page.
- Look below the video player for the video title area.
- Click the "Show more" link under the title.
- The full description appears with links and timestamps.
On mobile (YouTube app):
- Open the YouTube app and play a video.
- Tap on the video to show controls.
- Tap the down arrow next to the title.
- The description expands. Tap it again to collapse.
Tips for using video descriptions
• Copy links by long pressing on the URL in the expanded description.
• Use timestamps to jump to key parts of the video.
• Scroll through long descriptions by swiping up in the description area.
• Pinch to zoom if text looks too small on mobile.
